Would you travel abroad with a Hungarian immunity certificate? Here is all the info!
Hungary is concluding agreements with more and more countries on the adoption of the Hungarian immunity certificate. This will hopefully help tourism to resume soon.
It is necessary to pay attention because the Hungarian immunity certificate is not necessarily enough for a quarantine- and test-free entry. For more accessible information, with the help of portfolio.hu we summarise the situation by country. The list below contains the list of countries that agreed with Hungary, supplemented by the information available on the Consular Service website.
Bahrain
The BeAware Bahrain application is required when entering Bahrain. Upon arrival, the staff of the Ministry of Health will upload the right to enter the application. Unvaccinated between 6 and 18-year-olds need a PCR test on arrival.
Croatia
Free entry is possible after 14 days from the second vaccination.
Contrary to previous news, you do not need a separate document in English. People between 7 and 18 years old can be tested for the vaccine.
Czech Republic
Under the agreement, the two countries mutually accept each other’s immunity certificates. For single-dose vaccinations and the first dose at the double-dose vaccinations, 22 days should elapse after the first vaccination before entering the country.
Georgia
Unrestricted entry is possible for everyone who has an immunity certificate. Without the card, a PCR test no older than 72 hours is required, which must be repeated three days later at your own expense.
Montenegro, Mongolia
By mutual agreement, quarantine and test-free entry is possible. There are currently no other special rules.
Northern Macedonia
You can travel without restrictions. However, from some countries (for example, Brazil, India), a 14-day quarantine is required upon arrival.
Romania
The latest mutual agreement has been reached with Romania. From Saturday evening, you can enter without any obligation to test and quarantine.
Serbia
Free admission is available to everybody who has a Hungarian immunity certificate. However, those who received a card because they had been infected can only enter Serbia from Hungary.
Turkey
Entry is possible without quarantine and testing under the agreement. Before travelling to Turkey, you must register and fill out a document upon entry.
In addition to these countries, negotiations are underway with Greece, Israel, Slovakia and Poland. An important question is Italy, which is a popular resort for Hungarians.
By agreement between the European Parliament and the Council, the digital Covid-19 certificate will be available from 1 July.
The aim is to be able to travel within the EU without restriction again. According to napi.hu, the card will be available on paper or digitally. Anyone who has received one of the coronavirus vaccines, has recovered from the infection or has a negative test result may receive it. According to the draft, this only applies to those vaccinated with vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency. Other vaccinations may be decided separately by the Member States.
